We currently offer one direct-service program:
- 21st Century Community Learning Centers After School Program – state and federally funded and based in Detroit Public Schools. This program serves children attending high-poverty and low performing schools. Students in grades 4 – 8 are helped to meet local and state standards in reading and math. Tutoring and enrichment activities with STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) based activities make the difference for many youth. Parent educational activities and family support services are also available.
Outcome data tracked:

- evaluators track student, parent and staff satisfaction, results – we received high levels of satisfaction of program structure and content
- academic outcomes indicate modest growth in grade point averages
- In 2011 – 2012, 24% of 7th – 9th grade students showed improvements in reading and 32% showed improvements in math
YDC provides year-round job readiness training and job placement services to Detroit youth. The organization serves as a strong neighborhood partner and builds success in addressing the needs of young people.
